TRAVEL: BERLIN IS CALLING

 "Du bist verrückt mein Kind, du musst nach Berlin". Vielleicht kennen einige von euch diesen Text, der auf den bunten Postkarten steht, die es meist in Clubs zur freien Entnahme gibt. Genau eine solche Karte habe ich zuhause im Bücherregal stehen. Jeden Morgen wenn ich am Bücherregal
vorbei gehe, erinnert sie mich daran, dass ich unbedingt einmal nach Berlin fahren sollte.
Vor einer Woche war es endlich soweit. Für meinen ersten Berlin Urlaub habe ich mich für die Gegend rund um den Potsdamer Platz entschieden, da dieser jedes Jahr Schauplatz für die Berlinale ist und ich diese immer im TV verfolgt habe.

Übernachtet habe ich im Fjord Hotel, einem schicken, modernen Hotel, dass nur wenige Meter vom Potsdamer Platz entfernt liegt. Alle Designliebhaber werden dieses Hotel defintiv lieben.
Da dies mein erster Berlin Urlaub war, habe ich mich entschieden, mir Berlin erstmals von oben anzuschauen. Vom Panorama Turm konnte ich einen tollen Blick über die Stadt genießen. Den Rest des Tages habe ich auf dem Citybike verbracht und die Gegend rund um den Potsdamer Platz erkundet. Natürlich war ich nicht nur zum Sightseeing in Berlin. Auch Shopping stand auf meiner "To-do-Liste". Die Arkaden am Potdamer Platz waren am nächsten Tag die perfekte Adresse um mein Vorhaben umzusetzen. Das Endergebnis dieser Shoppingtour war dann aber auch, dass meine Tasche kaum mehr zu schließen war.
Mein Resüme: Das nächste Mal nehme ich nicht nur eine größere Tasche mit, sondern auch mehr Zeit. Berlin, bis bald.

Some of you may know these very colorful postcards with funny sentences on it. Most of them you can find at clubs. One of them has a very special sentence on it: "You are crazy, my child. You must go tor Berlin". I own this card since one year and from the moment I got it I wanted to visit Berlin.

Last week it was finally my turn to visit Berlin. I have chosen to focus on the area around the Potsdamer Platz which is every year the location for the so called "Berlinale", a film festival.
I slept one night at the Fjord Hotel. The Fjord Hotel is a really modern and very fashionable Hotel. All design lover will like it a lot. The first thing I wanted to do in Berlin was to see Berlin from a different angle - from above. At the top of the Panorama Tower you can enjoy a great view over the whole city. I enjoyed it a lot. The rest of the day I rented a city bike and cruised around the Potsdamer Platz. But sightseeing wasn't really my only motivation to come to Berlin. My second motivation was, of course, shopping. The Arcades at the Potsdamer Platz were on the next day the ideal location to go shopping. The result of this shopping experience was that I almost couldn't close my travel bag.
